About the Event
KODA is pleased to present The Sixth Day, a solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based photographer Nyamekye “Edmond” Bucknor. This installation is curated by Farideh Sakhaeifar (KODA ’21). The exhibition will be open to the public at KODA house (404B) on Governors Island in New York City from May 17-June 15, 2025. The opening will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 3-5 pm.
Since 2019, Edmond has been using photography to document everyday life on the streets of New York City, particularly in Brooklyn, New York. Alongside his street photography, he has also turned his lens inward, capturing the moments of daily life within his own family. Through these dual approaches, Edmond explores the nuances of public and private intimacy and the subtle differences between documenting strangers and loved ones.
